HARRISBURG – State Rep. Keith Gillespie (R-Hellam) has been chosen “Legislator of the Year” by the Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen and Conservationists (PFSC).
“It is truly an honor to be recognized by a group with whom I share a passion for the great outdoors and all it has to offer,” said Gillespie. “We’re really blessed as Pennsylvanians to live in a state with such wide and varied types of natural attractions and matching activities to suit seemingly any interest.”
PFSC is recognized as the premier voice for conservation and outdoor heritage in Pennsylvania. Its mission is to protect and conserve natural resources and Second Amendment rights.
Gillespie is majority chairman of the House Game and Fisheries Committee and is serving his fourth consecutive term in that capacity. The committee is charged with taking up any piece of legislation that affects hunting, fishing and trapping. Each year, it also receives an annual report from the executive directors of both the Pennsylvania Game Commission and Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.
Gillespie represents the 47th Legislative District, which consists of the boroughs of Hallam, Manchester, Mount Wolf, North York, Wrightsville and York Haven; as well as the townships of Conewago, East Manchester, Hellam, Manchester and portions of Springettsbury.
